Privacy Policy
We collect only the information needed to route your insurance request, share it with the specific licensed organization named to you before submission, and never sell it. You can request access to or deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@insurancegenie.ca.
What we collect
Information you provide in an insurance request — contact details, address, vehicle or property details, driving and claims history — plus standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited.
How we use it
- To determine which participating, appropriately licensed partner can service your request.
- To transfer your request to that named partner after you consent.
- To contact you about that request by phone, email or SMS.
- To improve the service and measure marketing performance in aggregate.
Who we share it with
The specific licensed organization identified to you before you submitted your request, and service providers who operate our infrastructure under contract. If more than one organization will receive your request, each is named before submission. We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not transfer your information to a different partner without appropriate authority, disclosure and consent.
Consent
This section is the single place where Insurance Genie’s consent terms are set out. Forms across the site and app link here rather than repeating the wording.
What we record
- The consent wording displayed to you, and the version of this policy in force at the time.
- The named receiving organization, and the office or division assigned.
- The timestamp, the page or screen the consent was given on, and the campaign source.
Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@insurancegenie.ca. Withdrawal stops future sharing; it does not reverse a transfer that has already taken place, and the receiving organization will hold your information under its own privacy policy and retention obligations.
Your rights under PIPEDA
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent and request deletion, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Partner privacy policies
